At the area of Khwae Noi river basin, there is an ancient city called Muang Singh where an excavation found human skeleton of prehistoric age which has the using of metal to make tools, instruments, and accessories. Also found ancient brick base of Dvaravati Period. This Muang Singh would be the city that has been mentioned in Preah Khan Inscription of Cambodia.

    It can be said that Muang Singh is the Khmer historical site which located in the westernmost of Thailand. According to the value and importance of this historical site, the Fine Arts Department has interested to repair and reconstruct this historical site from its original condition as wasteland and dilapidated historical site until Muang Singh and the historical site have been reconstructed and developed to be a neatly beautiful historical site at present.
