the Buddha statue in meditation posture, sat cross-legged flat on Naga coil, the 7-headed Naga with tenon under its base, wearing a right-slanting outer robe and cobra earrings, his hair twisted as spiral with hairline, the garland of rays or Brah Khet Mala looks like the overlapped lotus petals, the back Naga as flower-shaped
Condition :
be damaged, some Naga’s heads were lost, there is trail of restoration on Naga’s body.
Historical Background :
Found from an excavation of Meru Brahmathat, Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, the 6th Regional Office of the Fine Arts delivered this statue to the Phimai National Museum on 25th January 1992.
