Ta Pha Daeng Shrine

event 2018 12
Ta Pha Daeng Shrine is an archaeological site in Khmer Prasart found in the north area of rampart. It is constructed in a single laterite building, with lotus bud and panel shape of lower part. A main part containing Buddha relics (Ruen That) is constructed with a long hall outstretched from the Prasart in the east and the west side. The east hall is longer than the opposite hall. It is found that the top roof was completely collapsed.
In an excavation and restoration, some parts of four bas relief Brahmin and Hindu sculptures were found and assumed to be an early Khmer Bayon style of art. The evidences are now presented in Ramkhamheng National Museum, Sukhothai Province.
